HOW WE WORK:
RESILIENT
LEADERSHIP PORTFOLIO.
CRC'S NEWEST PROGRAM
Amongst our newest program additions to CRC’s portfolio is our Regional Leadership work, starting primarily with the intention to build trust and strengthen relationships among CBOs and government entities in Santa Clara County. CRC is making substantial advancement to accomplish this by both recruiting inaugural members of the Equity In Community Work Group (EiCWG) internally from existing CBOs, as well as intentionally reaching out to organizations outside of the Collaborative that work at the intersection of climate change and disaster preparedness, youth education, and community services.
Focus Areas:

Capacity Building: Enhancing the skills and knowledge of community leaders and organizations to address climate challenges effectively

Equity Implementation: Ensuring climate resilience efforts prioritize the needs of underserved and vulnerable populations.

Strategic Partnerships: Fostering collaboration between local and regional stakeholders to create comprehensive climate solutions
Program Offerings:
The Resilient Leadership program involves multiple layers of developing partnerships, community engagement, and supporting equitable processes in governance. Through its role in a variety of programs, CRC has built trust and support from and equity-building processes with countless SF Bay Area representatives from community-based organizations, local and federal jurisdictions, and the private sector. Building upon over thirty thoughtful, long-term partnerships with community-based organizations, our program seeks to bridge the gap between these communities and the public agencies built to serve them.
Our Resilient
Leadership Portfolio
CRC’s Role As Equity Implementor
The Santa Clara County Climate Collaborative is a multi-sector network uniting public agencies, academia, nonprofits, community-based organizations, and business leaders to advance regional solutions to climate change.
CRC acts as the Collective's official Equity Implementor, while also sharing resources and expertise, pursuing joint funding opportunities, and develop partnerships that enhance the county and Collaborative members abilities to mitigate and adapt to climate change.
CRC's Service as BayCAN Equity Lead
CRC is part of the Bay Area Climate Adaptation Network (BayCAN), a collaborative network of local government staff and partnering organizations working to help the Bay Area region to respond effectively and equitably to the impacts of climate change. Our Resilient Leadership serves as the Equity Lead at BayCAN, working to provide those involved with more equitable strategies for program management, budgeting, and community support.
This role involves sharing CRC’s institutional knowledge through extensive community engagement experience, ensuring that BayCAN members have access to resources that will aid them in consistently prioritizing equity in every part of their work.

Serving Regional Environmental Justice & Safety Element
Each city and county is required by state law to have a General Plan, for long-term planning and development within the municipality. CRC and our Regional Leadership team have expertise in consulting to ensure these plans are developed with climate resilience and environmental justice as core components. We also prioritize robust outreach to involve and empower residents in the planning process.
